1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites at connectiveleadership.com and its subdomains, our software applications, online assessments, reports, dashboards and related services (together, the "Services"), and any purchase you make from us. By using the Services, creating an account, or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes that organization.
If you have signed a separate written agreement, order form or statement of work with us, that document controls where it conflicts with these Terms.
2. Who we are
The Services are provided by Connective Leadership LLC, doing business as the Connective Leadership Institute ("CLI", "we", "us", "our"), New York, NY, United States. Contact details are in Section 23. The name of our business may appear on your card or bank statement as "Connective Leadership" or "Connective Leadership LLC".
3. Our services
We provide:
- Assessments and reports — the Achieving Styles Inventories (including ASI, OASI, ASSET and related 360° instruments) and the individual and group reports produced from them.
- Platform subscriptions — access to the CLI "The Future" behavioral-intelligence platform, dashboards, the employee app and AI-assisted interpretation tools, typically priced per employee or per user.
- Certification — training and certification for CLI Certified Associates and access to the Certified Associates' Resource Center.
- Consulting and professional services — advisory, facilitation and workshop services delivered under a quote, proposal or statement of work.
A description, price and any quantity or term for each purchase are shown at checkout or in your quote, invoice or order form before you pay.
4. Accounts
Some Services require an account. You agree to give accurate information, keep your login credentials and any two-factor authentication device secure, and tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase Services.
5. Pricing and payment
- Prices. Prices are stated in U.S. dollars unless your quote or checkout page says otherwise. Prices do not include applicable sales, use, VAT or similar taxes, which will be added where required by law.
- Payment processing. Card and other online payments are processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe, Inc. By paying, you also agree to the processor's applicable terms. We do not receive or store your full card number, security code or bank login details; the processor handles them under the PCI Data Security Standard.
- Authorization. You authorize us and our processor to charge the payment method you provide for the amounts shown at checkout or on your invoice, including recurring charges for subscriptions under Section 6.
- Invoices. Invoiced amounts for organizations are due within 30 days of the invoice date unless the invoice or order form says otherwise. We may suspend Services for accounts that are more than 15 days overdue after giving notice.
- Price changes. We may change prices for future periods. We will give subscribers at least 30 days' notice by email before a price increase takes effect, and you may cancel before it does.
- Promotions. Discount codes and promotional prices apply only as stated in the offer, cannot be combined unless stated, have no cash value, and may expire.
6. Subscriptions, automatic renewal and cancellation
Platform subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected at purchase or set out in your order form). Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and your payment method will be charged the then-current price, until you cancel. The renewal date and amount are shown in your order confirmation and account.
- How to cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account billing page, where available, or by emailing [email protected] from your account email address. We will confirm cancellation by email.
- Effect of cancellation. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. No further charges are made after cancellation takes effect.
- Annual plans. For annual subscriptions, we will email you a reminder at least 7 days before each renewal.
- Free trials. If a subscription begins with a free trial, you will not be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before then at no cost. We will show the trial length and the price that applies after it at sign-up.
7. Refund policy
- Subscriptions. If you cancel within 14 days of your first paid subscription charge, we will refund that charge in full. After that, subscription fees are non-refundable for the current billing period, and you keep access until the period ends. Annual renewals cancelled within 14 days of the renewal charge are refunded in full.
- Assessments. Unused assessment codes or licenses may be refunded within 30 days of purchase. Once an assessment has been started or a report has been generated, the fee for that assessment is non-refundable, because the report is delivered immediately and cannot be returned.
- Certification and workshops. Cancellations received at least 14 days before the program start date receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than 14 days before the start may be transferred to a later session at no charge; otherwise they are non-refundable.
- Consulting. Consulting fees are governed by your proposal or statement of work. Work already performed is billable.
- Errors and service failures. If you are charged in error, charged twice, or a Service we sold you materially fails to work and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, we will refund the affected amount.
To request a refund, email [email protected] with your name, the date and amount of the charge, and the reason. We respond within two business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method, and usually appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. This policy does not limit any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.
8. Billing questions and disputes
If you do not recognize a charge or believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first at [email protected] or (212) 920-7867. Most billing issues can be resolved quickly and directly. Contacting us does not affect your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer or bank. If a chargeback is filed, we may provide the processor with records of the transaction, your order and your use of the Services, and we may suspend the related account while the dispute is open.
9. Delivery
Our Services are delivered electronically. Account access, assessment links and digital reports are usually provided by email or in your account immediately, or within one business day, after payment is confirmed. Consulting, workshop and certification sessions are delivered on the dates agreed with you, online or in person. We do not ship physical goods unless an order form specifically says so, in which case the shipping terms in that order form apply.
10. Nature of assessments and AI-assisted content
Achieving Styles assessments describe the approaches people report using to achieve their goals. They are educational and organizational-development tools. They are not medical, psychological or clinical diagnoses or treatment. Assessment results should be one input among many and never the sole basis for hiring, promotion, termination or other decisions about a person.
Dashboards, benchmark comparisons, financial estimates and AI-assisted interpretations are summaries and projections. They may contain errors, depend on the data supplied, and are not guarantees of any business, financial or personal outcome. They are not legal, financial, investment or employment-law advice.
11. Confidentiality of responses
Individual assessment and survey responses are confidential. When an organization purchases Services for its employees, we report employee survey results to the employer only in aggregate, we do not identify individual respondents, free-text comments are de-identified, and we do not report results for groups with fewer than five respondents. Individual Achieving Styles reports are shared only with the participant and with people the participant or the purchasing agreement authorizes.
12. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Services for any unlawful, fraudulent or discriminatory purpose, including making employment decisions that violate anti-discrimination law;
- share account credentials, resell access, or let unlicensed users use the Services;
- copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or create competing products from the Services or the assessment instruments;
- upload malware, probe or disrupt our systems, or bypass security or usage limits;
- upload personal data about others without a lawful basis and any notice or consent the law requires.
13. Intellectual property and copyright

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services you have paid for, for your internal purposes, during your subscription or license term. Copyright complaints
If you believe material on the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] with: your contact details; a description of the copyrighted work; the location (URL) of the material; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We will respond under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act and may remove the material and, in appropriate cases, end the accounts of repeat infringers.
14. Third-party services
The Services rely on third-party providers, including payment processors, hosting, email and AI-model providers. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services we do not control.
15. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available". Except as expressly stated in these Terms or a signed agreement, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Connective Leadership LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to the Services or decisions made in reliance on them. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Services giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
17. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Connective Leadership LLC and its officers, employees and associates against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or decisions you make about other people using the Services.
18. Export controls and sanctions
You may not use or access the Services, or make purchases, in violation of U.S. export-control or economic-sanctions laws, including from a comprehensively sanctioned country or region or by a person on a U.S. government restricted-party list. We may refuse or cancel orders that we believe violate these laws.
19. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the Services in a way that creates legal or security risk, and we will give notice where reasonable. Sections that by their nature should survive (including payment owed, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law) survive termination. On termination you may request an export of your account data within 30 days.
20. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, each party agrees to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the other in writing and negotiating in good faith for 30 days. If it is not resolved, the dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections of the law where you live.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and for material changes we will notify account holders by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Changes do not apply retroactively to a billing period you have already paid for.
22. Privacy policy
How we collect, use, share and protect personal information, including payment and assessment data, is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
